Why must a film make money? What is this obsession with earning back its budget? Sometimes a visionary work should be allowed to exist for its own sake. This fixation with profits above all other aesthetic considerations will be the death of art.
@DuncanS21@HotshotsBurner There were reports of him struggling to remember lines for Woody Allen’s Cafe Society, and he was replaced with Steve Carell. At the time there were linkages with that and him being “difficult”, but it certainly aligns with the above.
I really want to know how it's impossible for NYRB Classics to ever keep to a release date, sometimes by months, even over a year beyond the announced date.
