We've automated the buying. We forgot to automate the accountability. A few thoughts on the Flipkart refund experience.

So your zipcare technicians called today and confirmed first for 12 pm. Then called to change it to 2 pm. Then this guy called Mhd Saquib called at 1 pm to say he won't visit and some other technician will call and visit my home.
And as would have guessed, nobody called. This is exactly the game you and Zipcare plays. Now they will close this call saying client wasn't at home or client didn't want the service and they are scotfree.
Shame on Croma for allowing your vendors to cheat and lie at your customer's expense. Have you forgotten who is more important in the scheme of things?
It's an appauling experience since the start of this year. My first AMC request was in Feb end but only in 1st week of April did someone fro Zipcare come after 12 calls. So essentially Jan-March was wasted with no service.
After that nobody has bothered to come and my calls were closed as completed whenever nobody has even bothered to come. The call centre people aren't empowered - so they can neother check whether genuinely anybody turned up. They simply close the call even if zipcare falsely tells them it is done or client was not at home (which is a lie).
And this is happ with both my ACs as we have paid AMCs for 4 yrs for both! Shame on you guys
@PradyXL Absolutely. A guarantee means very little without accountability when it’s time to honour it.
Consumers shouldn’t have to chase multiple parties for a service they’ve already paid for. Stronger oversight and accountability are definitely needed.
Extended warranty: because apparently buying an expensive appliance wasn't enough uncertainty.
We pay extra to protect ourselves from the possibility that it might break.
But what happens when it actually does?
That’s when the warranty gets interesting. https://t.co/N5JI07FcKp
I made the mistake of buying 4 yrs of AMC from #Zipcare (Don't know if it is Croma's subsidiary or independent) while purchasing the AC from @cromaretail - The deal was they would come once a quarter to check, clean and replace coolng gas if reqd (once in 2 yrs) etc.
As you would have guessed, that never happened. There are 3 independent parties; Croma, Call centre that books your AMC call and Zipcare team. Whenever you register the call at call centre, the zipcare team would inform that the task is done to call centre without actually carrying it out.
The first year went fine but from 2nd yr onwards the pain started. Beyond 3 quarters, I simply gave up bcos between call centre the zipcare, they purposely don't communicate clearly and falsely close maintenance calls.
#NeverBuyAdvanceAMC @cromaretail simply sells it and doesn't care. #Frauds
@sarcatrist@cromaretail I agree… most of the time, the experience after the sale is a completely different story. You pay upfront for peace of mind, and then spend your time chasing the very service you already paid for.
We all love buying peace of mind. 😄
Extended warranties are a perfect example. But what happens when the product actually breaks?
I wrote about the fine print, the customer-care maze, and the business of selling certainty.
Give it a read & tell me what you think.

Brilliant #BigBillionFailure analysis done by Sapna that showcases the current scenario. It's common knowledge that it takes 5X more money to get a new customer than to retain an existing one. And yet, @Flipkart chooses to frustrate them, scam them, cheat them, delay / deny their refunds. Time has come to shop elsewhere and make them realise this

Reading this and just nodding along.
Had my own refund drama drag on for 10-15 days, and honestly, by day 5 I'd stopped expecting an actual answer from @Flipkart and just started collecting their emails like trading cards — "We're looking into it" and "Our team is on it", never once "Here's what's actually happening."
And "policy-policy" is such a mood, because the second something's inconvenient for them, suddenly there's a policy for it, but never one that works in your favour.

Ordering from @Flipkart is a nightmare, i ordered my product on 8 August and now the issue resolution showed by them is on 21 August. I spoke with hub incharge he said we don't take exchange here and you've to pay for your exchange difference and said keep playing policy-policy.
Relatable. We went through our own 10-15-day "refund saga" with @Flipkart – complete with copy-and-paste emails, agents who clearly hadn't read the previous 5 messages, and hold music that could double as psychological warfare.
Product, support, delivery, refund, return — pick your poison; they're all equally "special".

Worst company @Flipkart@flipkartsupport
And their delivery boy - worst delivery boy. For the past 6 days, the delivery boy has been rescheduling the product delivery because he doesn’t want to come to the given address, and keeps asking the customer to come different locations.
