@SirWelcome2 ‘Let us explain: like all the diesels on the Other Railway, Old Stuck-Up's horn is partly made from old vaccuum cleaners. It's called economising, kids. Sir Wyatt Fronts swears by it.’
@shunter_86 Too many times! But I don’t pay much attention to them. At any rate, those I’m closest to also generally understand that there’s more to the show that draws me in, rather than what’s at face value - I mean, the show did help get me interested in real steam locos, after all.
@Orbonom It would be better if they did it here also. Or at least added one or two more episodes to this release, or even a box set of the full series! In fact, I hope they do the latter - if only for better value for money! (3/3)
@Orbonom I remember when Doctor Who sold DVDs during its 50th anniversary for a price far higher than usual - but even then, it was an advance copy of a then soon-to-be-public in a box set with added extras such as a novel, a sonic screwdriver, and an audio CD among other things. (2/3)
@Orbonom I’m neither here nor there on this matter. On the one hand, it could be a test release - and it is a small mercy that TUGS is being released on DVD at all. But on the other hand, I’d rather pay £20 for more than just a one-episode DVD and a 4-page booklet. (1/3)
"Are you sure about this, Gordon? Once it's done, there's no going back."
"Is Barrow still under fire?"
"Yes. It's... It's being bombarded right now."
"Then do it already."
"You'll be a different engine."
"But it will be the same country. And that's all that matters."
@theburiedtruck Mind you, though, I would never go and hate on the guy, just because of it. At the end of the day, it’s only going to cause more drama, and, while ours is a case of what works better in a story, we all have our own opinion - it’s just better given in a constructive sense (3/3).
@theburiedtruck Some people in the past have tried sending me ‘redemption’ ideas for my OC villains, but I just feel that it would be tacked on. With Diesel, it was different, because, as the years went by, he would have matured anyway, and was simply a product of his generation (2/3).
@theburiedtruck Speaking honestly, I feel exactly the same way. I prefer your ending to the ‘alternative’ one, and, let’s face it, some characters work better WITHOUT a redemption story. Awdry wrote his stories based on real-life experiences, and not everyone in real life is redeemable (1/2).
@HudsonGuy12@yeenwithgoggles@SillyFunniMinty Yeah, but tbf, Angelis stuck around for longer than Ringo. His narration took a dip from S7-12 because he was getting old, and no longer had the energy that he did in the nineties. With S13-16, he could put more energy in his lines, because he no longer had to do all the VA work.
Dear Friends,
It is unfortunate that my previous method of collecting my stories was broken. But I thought for the meantime, until I can collect them all in a singular drive folder, a thread would be best.
A new pinned tweet in order. 🧵

@PennyPercyArt What if…
Duke was never discovered?
The Romans invaded Sodor?
Modernisation took hold of Sodor in full (all steam engines being replaced by diesels)?
James was REALLY painted blue?
Edward stayed in the shed?
Thomas never got his branch line?
The NWR was never formed?
