Today marks the 160th anniversary of Juneteenth, a day celebrating the end of Black enslavement in TX.
Approximately 250,000 formerly enslaved Texans were granted freedom.
Celebrated for generations, Juneteenth became a state holiday in 1980 and a federal holiday in 2021.
