@DInddle @0xBender I think it was also the careful rollout by Reddit. They had been introducing avatars for the past few years prior to adding NFTs. Their userbase will spend $20 to give posts fake awards. A 'digital collectible' given out for free, mixed with the timing worked well for them.

The cool thing is: based on the community and the project, we can always change licensing in the future. It's easier to give out rights than it is to take away. Cheers!
