Didn't see that one coming. Congrats to Corey Heim for getting that first Cup Series W. Awesome to see. They built a really cool looking track out there in San Diego, hope to see them race it again. So much better than the Chicago street course.
There was a time in the 90s when my grandfather had these stocked in the freezer for when I visited. Those chicken nuggets were straight ๐ฅ. The brownie was always inedible though.
Listen, I've never been the biggest Denny Hamlin fan but I gotta give it to him here. He raced his ass off tonight. Sticking the bottom on 1 & 2 then sliding up in front of Bell on the last lap was just gorgeous work.
I knew there would be some sort of synchronicity or divine influence at play tonight. Daniel Suarez, who was mentored by Kyle Busch, wins the Coke 600 driving the 7 car. A number that hasn't won a Cup Series race in 30 years. The same number that Kyle Busch was running in the Truck Series when he got his final victory last week in Dover...a race that Daniel Suarez was calling in the commentary booth. The team involved in both victories - Spire Motorsports. A team that bought out Kyle Busch Motorsports years ago. This is a wild universe we live in.
When you consider car 7 hasnโt won in 30 years, that Suarez didnโt really appear until the closing laps and he somehow held off the fastest cars of the night who were on much fresher tires TWICEโฆ.
You have to wonder, was divine intervention stepping in?
Rest in Peace ๐
Since Al is making everyone sound more generic and NPC, I recommend becoming the most unhinged version of you, to counterbalance. Write like a crazy person who hasn't interacted with humanity in years. Break any and all of the rules. Live like a mad, drunk poet. Now is your time to channel the weirdest version of you.
What the actual fuck. This is one of those freak things in life that makes you question reality. Absolutely heartbreaking. Kyle Busch was one of those drivers who I didn't really appreciate until later in his career. It wasn't until he became an underdog again in the 8 car that I really started rooting for him to find success again and break the winless streak. If I'm shook, I can't imagine what his family, team and fellow drivers are going through right now. RIP Rowdy.
We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport's greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and the entire motorsports community.
James Wood's inside-the-park grand slam was the second inside-the-park grand slam in Nationals history (2005-pres.), joining Michael A. Taylor on Sept. 8, 2017.
The first 2 segments of the #AllStarRace were pretty entertaining...but that 3rd segment was just wayyyy too long. Turned into just another boring Dover race. Should have been a 100 lap shoot out at the end instead.
I didn't even touch my drink yet, holy shit. Still, so proud of Gina and everything she accomplished over the last couple years getting herself ready for this night. Truly inspiring and definitely makes me want to step up my game in all aspects of life. Team Gina forever. #WelcomeToTheRebellion
The 2nd half of Punisher - One Last Kill was fucking awesome. Kinda felt like a lost level in the '05 Punisher game...but the first half...was just ok. What took 20 minutes to get through, could have taken 10 which would have given us more time for an actual resolution at the end, rather than a cliffhanger. Basically, it felt like a pilot. Who knows if we get a sequel, but if we do, I hope he's actually the Punisher this time, costume and all. Not just emo Frank Castle in a hoodie.
