Proud to share our latest work in @nature, co-led by @chadi_elfarran, @CouturierMDPhD & @BradEBernstein! We developed a new framework to understand immunomodulatory myeloid cells in #glioma & lay a foundation to develop more effective immunotherapies🧵 https://t.co/OHaqovnefp
12/ Huge credit to Nick Gonzalez Castro, @vrishab_x Sathish Kumar, and @MarioSuva.
Nick is a rising star in neuro-oncology, Mario is a world leader in single-cell glioma biology, and Vrishab is a brilliant computational biologist in my lab (starting at @cwrumstp this summer!)
Thanks to @NeuroOnc@EditorNeuro for publishing!

Why has immunotherapy been so hard in glioblastoma?
A major reason is the immune microenvironment.
In this open-access review, we summarize how single-cell genomics is changing our understanding of glioma immune biology — and why we need to think beyond cell types.

11/ The review is open access, and Figure 1 can be downloaded from the journal site.
Please use it in your PowerPoints, journal clubs, lectures, lab meetings, and grant background slides if it is helpful.
That was one of the main reasons we made the article open access.
@DanSimonMD, sits down with Matthew Anderson, MD, PhD @TyMillerLab for a deep dive into the brain, from autism to glioblastoma and immune-based therapies. Hear how @Uhhospitals scientists are pushing the boundaries of neuropathology: https://t.co/L6Sg7Qhc1b
Day 1 at #AACR2026—an energizing start. A standout talk by Tyler Miller explored myeloid cell classification and the emerging strategies to reprogram these populations in glioma. Clear momentum toward reshaping the tumor microenvironment for therapeutic impact @TyMillerLab
Was a fantastic 2 days in Philly for the American Association for Cancer Research's Special Conference on Brain Cancer! Global leaders in brain cancer research gathered to share their latest research. Was honored to present ours and chair the session on Neuro Immuno-Oncology. Always great to catch up with friends and establish new collaborations that push forward research faster (and have some fun doing it!)
Advances in NeuroImmunoOncology:
Tyler E. Miller, David Gutmann, and Lukas Bunse addressed this topic in a plenary session at the AACR Special Conference on Brain Cancer. #AACRbrain26@TyMillerLab@GutmannLab@L_Bunse
