In 2012, a TV channel accidentally aired Teletubbies with subtitles from The Sopranos.
A technical error at Icelandic TV station Stöð 2 caused subtitles from an episode of The Sopranos to play over a morning airing of Teletubbies, a show normally dubbed into Icelandic and not subtitled at all.
The subtitles came from Season 4 of The Sopranos, specifically the episode "The Strong, Silent Type."
While Tinky-Winky and Po bounced around their pastel hillside, Icelandic subtitles rolled across the screen reading things like "You can no longer function as a man," "Last week when I came home to learn that you had killed our dog," and "You killed the dog?"
A viewer named Svanhildur Hólm Valsdóttir photographed the screen and posted the images on social media, where the story got local attention and was picked up by Icelandic media.
Stöð 2 shut down completely in June 2012, just months after the incident, and was replaced by a new channel called Sýn.
The archives of the old broadcaster were lost or made inaccessible, meaning no footage of the broadcast is known to survive.
The only proof it ever happened is a few blurry photographs like the image below.
