If you are a HW4 Tesla owner in Arizona, Indiana or Oregon, you can now get Lemonade Autonomous Car Insurance with a 50% discount on every mile driven using FSD.
You pay a low fixed parking price, then pay only for miles driven each month. If you have FSD activated, those miles are 50% off.
The company says that as FSD versions improve, prices will go down further.
As always, insurance is different for everyone, so make sure you check other options to see what’s right for you. If available, Tesla Insurance might be cheaper if you have high FSD usage as well.
Officially 1 month since I switched to a flip phone.
- Everyone is more severely addicted to their smartphones than I thought. Once you have a dumbphone, you'll frequently find yourself as the only person in the room not on their phone. It's not just teenagers, it's parents and adults of all ages. It's like everyone is stuck in a trance. 75+ year olds might be the only exception.
- All the objections I previously had for getting a dumbphone have turned out to be overblown and/or solvable. My iPhone addiction had fed my brain excuses to not do this earlier. If you really want to make the switch, you can.
- I've felt embarrassed to pull out my flip phone in public at times, for fear of being different or drawing too much attention to myself. But I have learned to just own up to it. Most people end up saying something like "Oh, I probably should do that too."
- I am using my brain more. Even though my flip phone has Waze, I find myself memorizing maps and roads. I'm more bored and get lost in my thoughts. I'm using paper and pen more. Increased desire for tangible things > digital things.
Overall, it has been a great experience and I plan on never going back.
Covenant Logistics has completed two weeks of @Tesla Semi testing. They were blown away by its capabilities.

As one of our final runs we tackled a section of I-5 between Santa Clarita and the San Joaquin Valley over the Tejon Pass - famously known as "The Grapevine" - a lane critical to trucks hauling cargo from the ports in Oakland, Los Angeles, and Long Beach. "The Grapevine" sits at an elevation of 4,160 feet and represents the highest point on I-5 in California. The northbound descent from Tejon Summit drops 2,613 feet over 11.6 miles, with the steepest section — known as the Grapevine Hill — running about 6% grade for 5 miles.
Running the Grapevine with a loaded trailer is about as demanding a real-world test as you could design for any truck. Running Northbound - lose momentum on a steep grade with a heavy load can be stressful as speed drops fast and recovering on that grade is challenging. Running Southbound requires attention to braking and heat management (which isn't a problem for an EV when you've got regenerative braking doing most of the work)."
