The truth about COD Esports:

Gamers created a new genre of sports entertainment, incubated all the talent, grew the viewership and curated all the content outside of traditional media…. Without dev support and with our own money for a decade.

Then the game devs decided to slap a ten figure price tag on continued participation and booted us all out so they could sell it to extremely wealthy outsiders….. who all proceeded to bury the entire industry with their incompetence.

The few og team owners still involved are their puppets and always were. Never took a hard line for the community, got their special treatment for pushing the company message and cashed out for peanuts.

After the suits have squeezed the last buck outta esports it’ll return to gamers and that’s when we’ll see what it can become.
