Transverse med ball tosses are always better with friends! I have been seeing great motivation in two patients who are recovering from ACL-R with them coming to exercise at the same time. These two have similar goals and they push each other to work harder!
After spending plenty of time providing STM for hip adductors, I am incorporating the hip adductor side planks into my patient’s exercise program. It is time to strengthen the tissue and incorporate dynamic muscle activation during core exercises.
Learning to balance post-op protocols with multiple patients that have received patellar microfracture arthroplasty and lateral retinacular release of the knee. Keeping things conservative but these patients are young and want to push through.
Evaluated a patient yesterday who is returning to PT for the same pain and impairments. It was important to find out what worked well last time and what made it difficult to continue with HEP that was prescribed at discharge.
I had a patient status-post TKA who presented with redness, warmth, and excessive swelling/bruising in the knee last week. Thankfully he was able to see his physician same day. He came back yesterday with many resolved symptoms following antibiotic treatment! #redflags
Currently working with a patient who had a set back with a fall while walking over rocks and sand 4 weeks ago. New symptoms = very irritable. Now that symptoms are improving, we are cautiously returning to exercises to avoid re-injury and continue progressing strength.
Working on sit to stand with three patients and they all responded best to different cueing strategies. Plan: dial back the cueing and start asking the patient what was good and what still needs improvement.
With studies showing improvements in hypertrophy with blood flow restriction training in as little as 2 weeks, I am really excited to start seeing how week 3 of having a BFR unit in clinic will shape up. Don’t forget circumference measurements of the limb to measure improvement!!
Currently seeing multiple low back pain patients with similar demographic backgrounds but different symptoms. Gotta make sure to take good documentation to give them the most individualized plan of care that I can! 🤓
New clinical goal: don’t let dizziness go unidentified! I thought I had the suspected Dx of hip OA locked down with a new eval today. He denied a history of falls but given his gait pattern I followed up with Qs about balance/dizziness and I am glad I did!
Decided a couple months ago that I was going to work out every single day for as long as I could. Still haven’t missed a day, thanks to @classpass, @Runkeeper, and my trainer @TylerBacaSPT. 💪🏼🧘🏻♀️

Extensive & free review of "Organic foods". Some take homes:
1. More Omega 3 in Org, but only "marginal"
2. Antibiotics are BAD!
3. Overall Org are generally "better", kinda
4. Not as much of a slam dunk, on either side, as many claim. Lot's of problems
