We’re saddened to learn of the passing of Rick Ferkel.

The Ohio Traveler embodied Ted Johnson’s vision and was one of the original Outlaws. Among his hundreds of career wins, 21 came with the World of Outlaws including 9 in the inaugural 1978 season.

After retiring from driving, Ferkel’s involvement continued for several years as an owner as he mentored many rising talents.

We offer our condolences to his family & friends.
