@checkingTSLA@JoshYohe_PGH Yeah that's kinda my point.
Some guys (Acuna) are elite when they're in the game but can't stay on the field. Mitch is only a notch or two above the bar but always takes the ball. It's all the same over a long enough sample.
MK is built for 162. Playoffs? TBD.
@checkingTSLA@JoshYohe_PGH Yeah I hear you. He's not an elite arm.
But over the same stretch he's produced a top 40 WAR among pitchers. Bregman, Acuna, De La Cruz would be the comparable hitters.
He's a useful player any team would value rostering.
@checkingTSLA@JoshYohe_PGH It kind of does actually. He’s fourth in MLB in IP since 2023.
Availability is a player trait. You can’t help the team if you’re not on the field. Plus reliability is a big asset when roster building.
@BobSmizik@Mikey5Aces What I “don’t get.”
Because what you “don’t get” (or seem to ignore) is that for over three weeks the supposed best pitcher in the world leaves half the game in the hands of the worst bullpen anyone has ever seen. And the team has dearly paid the price for it.
@Mikey5Aces@BobSmizik The team is supposed to make the playoffs and navigate a 162 game season.
If you are expending all your team’s resources to win a random Wednesday inter-league game bc the world’s best pitcher hasn’t pitched out of the 5th in over three weeks, you’re f**ked.
@DKPghSports@Dejan_Kovacevic Rot in hell DK. You’re a shitty person, a shitty reporter, and run an even shittier more pathetic website. Our city would be a better place if you were never in it. And I’ve always felt that way.
@authenticralph@KodyDuncanPGH Amazing to me how many people don’t acknowledge this.
It was obvious when they moved him he would follow Jones and Chandler’s short outings. Bulk leverage was a fantasy.
