NOW: A lieutenant from the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department, who oversaw the intelligence branch, has been INDICTED for allegedly informing former Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio about an impending arrest warrant.

Tarrio, the former chair of the Proud Boys, has recently been found guilty of seditious conspiracy in connection with the Capitol attack, along with other members of the far-right group.

The indictment against Shane Lamond, aged 47, includes one count of obstruction of justice and three counts of making false statements, as announced by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia on Friday.

The indictment further alleges that the officer and Tarrio exchanged at least 145 messages using Telegram's secret chat function, which automatically deletes messages.
