The Bible records Davids enemy was fighting him without cause. David pinned ”but I will give myself to prayer”.

Trying to fight without God is the highest form of arrogance. Fall on your face and give yourself to prayer. David was fully committed to prayer.

“Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am” (Jn 8:58). Jesus uses the title, “I Am” three times (vv. 24, 28, 58) in this chapter to declare His identity as Jehovah, not a pre-existent second person distinct from the Father. He is God with us!

1. He fought in the name of the Lord
2. He used what he was anointed to do and to use.
3. He was submitted to God and the man of God

The same thing David used to protect the sheep was the same thing he used to defeat the enemy.

You can only preach with authority when you own it. We must preach with authority and apostolic surety. Jesus owned His words.
