Last spring we had to shut off the A/C to hold the drama club’s production of Matilda (meaning the space was 85 degrees instead of decibels). The system isn’t meeting basic school needs.

Last year @TylerPTADC got a new HVAC system for our gym. Sounds good, but it’s not. Literally. The system is so loud it’s hard for teachers to teach. Measuring mid-80s dBs. Surely this isn’t how a brand new system should work? @dcpublicschools @DCDGS @charlesallen @W6PSPO

For comparison, 85dB is similar to being inside an airport or near heavy truck traffic. Not exactly ideal educational environments. Normal conversation is 60dB.
