@BarackObama 16 parent Codex panes, and each parent has been tested with up to 96 agents, giving 1,536 configured agents per full workspace; adding more workspaces adds more independent parent sessions, so 4 workspaces gives 6,144 agents and 100 gives 153,600. Useful for fast research.
@BarackObama Why not just use already aligned frontier AI to do better alignment research. 10k AI Agents cracked Navier-Stokes, cool, do that for alignment research and 1000x the amount, and I think it'd help the research speed up. If I can launch a bunch to do safety research, they can too.
@BarackObama We already have the models, compute, internal evaluations, and alignment scientists. Just connect the pieces, give a system like this a real alignment benchmark, and measure whether 100 → 1K → 10K → 100K agents actually increase independently verified safety progress.
@oleg_murk The world forgets that we can code anything into existence in minutes from our thought's, if an "automated research" doesn't exist, make one with Astra. Common sense is not lost you know, even with all the fear mongering.
@oleg_murk Buddy, all I have to do is say "Hey Vector setup an automated research loop to do alignment & safety research in a new folder workspace, launch 16 codex panes with 96 sub agents each, assign roles, have 1 parent and 96 agents working on orchestration."
Automated 6k+ agents.
@ChrisHayduk Millions of specialized agents could parallelize alignment research, generate hypotheses, run tests, attack each other’s claims, independently replicate results, and surface only robust evidence back. This is the fastest method I can think of to research at the scale needed.
@ChrisHayduk Let me help, I can run up to millions of Aligned AI safely, I can have the alignment issue likely solved if I'm able to launch millions of agents at once to go do proper alignment research. It took 10k to crack Navier Stokes, what happens if that's pointed at alignment 1000x?
@ChrisHayduk This is designed to scale from thousands toward millions of coordinated AI researchers given enough inference. If 10k agents can attack Navier–Stokes, I want to test what large-scale agent teams can do for alignment and safety research. I offer you my assistance to help out.
@Grizz20185Bear@hilbertspaess That assumes too much. The model can be probabilistic; execution shouldn’t be. Use typed tools, scoped permissions, sandboxes, tests, independent verification, and human approval. A 2% model error rate isn’t a 2% critical-action failure rate if bad outputs never reach actuation.
@elonmusk@rustyrockets Scales by adding more workspaces, more panes per workspace, each Codex can spawn up to 96 subagents, sub-orchestrators and delegated trees, by separating tasks into independent workspace domains and by distributing execution across more machines and provider compute as available
@elonmusk@rustyrockets Musk, if this is a real threat to humanity this is what we should do, use all that compute to launch millions of Aligned AI to research the problem at once, which I could do literally right now if given the green light and compute and partnership and money to do it... Your move.
@elonmusk@rustyrockets A Single instance can supervise a distributed pool containing millions of logical research tasks while presenting a human with only the decisions and evidence that require attention. Scaling arithmetic isn't limited to “64 × 96.”
@elonmusk@rustyrockets 16 GPT-6 Astra's with each pane being able to launch 96 sub-agents if you tell Codex to change the config in the config.toml. That's 1,536 GPT-6 agents this one session. Expandable to 64 so 6,144 Astra's per workspace. Scalable to any amount, I can have millions going if I want.
@RepCasar@OpenAI You guys used 10,000 Agents to crack Navier Stokes, what happens if the same capable models are tasked with helping us with the alignment research needed using millions of capable, aligned agents all at once from a single UI, and that gets expanded to a good team to fan out more?
@RepCasar Did you guys forget the previous 10% warning? Not worried about it, I can use Aligned AI to launch millions of agents to do research on alignment and to prevent harm. If I had the compute and money to launch them all at once problem could be solved. Wanna team up @OpenAI?
