I rely on my mobility wheelchair about 90% of the time due to my disability. Living in Cambridge, I often find myself facing challenges with accessibility. When I travel to NYC for work, since after 2020, it feels the environment is now tougher to navigate, and sometimes it feels like people have forgotten the importance of being considerate to others. Pre 2020, it had been at least 70% easier for me to travel around NYC than in Cambridge or Boston.
It's really disheartening to experience a lack of respect from those around each other. From the top down, a little kindness and awareness can make such a huge difference, for everyone. I know a lot of poor folks who have their cars buried in the snow would’ve appreciated some kindness.
It would be wonderful to see more people making an effort to be respectful and accountable. Gosh, I can’t even imagine the country if we actually used the money we’ve paid others to help our states. It makes me sick to my stomach when I see stuff like this. Most American citizens can’t afford to get their car repaired or replaced, that is if you’re lucky enough to have one in the first place.
I don’t understand the world we’re living in.
@RidleyHowell I know this is very late but oh my gosh I’m so sorry!! I’ve been battling an illness the last year or so and I’ve missed so much. He brought such joy to me, thank you for sharing his life with us.
