@skrashen I wonder if this is because non-fiction has more predictable word banks for subjects due to standardization in each specific field. I'd like to compare those that read a variety of different subject vs those that primarily read one subject. I suspect that might close the gap.
@ContraPoints By lack of choice I mean that the internet and a surge in poly interest have made it possible for poly folks to find other poly folks who are compatible in many important ways. Before someone may want to be poly but decide that a good mono mate is better then subpar poly mates.
@ContraPoints Poly people are now actively turning down mono people that that they would have considered before (due to lack of choice). So it feels to some monogamous people that they are being pressured to change or lose out on matches.
@ItsChrisVogel @99confused This has nothing to do with conversion therapy. They didn't force their son to change, they just let him go his natural course which he ended up being glad for.

My favorite part of teaching a flexibility and stretching workshop is the surprise that the teacher is a big stocky guy, followed by the utter shock when I do my first demonstration.
@postlexical The irony being that they want to spread the wealth in this country between the two groups, but then keep that same dynamic between the first world and third world because they benefit from it.
@postlexical Except, they also destroy local small businesses owned by people in their own communities. Businesses which often can't recover because they don't have the same resources as large chains.
