Last day of the school holidays today.
Check https://t.co/XZL71E4N40 next week to see what effect term time brings to the delays and air quality at the Tyne Bridge.
After a windy and sunny weekend with low levels of NO2, the return of weekday traffic saw a big jump in readings, and peak journey times of nearly 40 minutes on Monday.
Yesterday saw delays of 60 minutes on southbound approaches to the Tyne Bridge around 6pm.
Air quality readings didn't rise above levels usually seen during the day.
The 24h average for NO2 was still above WHO guidelines however.
With the Tyne Bridge due to be reduced to one vehicle lane in each direction tomorrow, we have put together a page to show the journey times and the main approaches, and a comparison to unrestricted days earlier last month.
