I completely agree! This would reduce healthcare expenditure on hospital visits and may provide a method to allocate more money towards the coverage of prescription medications. #PHARM4420
It would be interesting to see how much the government could save if they paid for preventative medications such as , antihypertensives, contraception. This would reduce the burden on our healthcare system in the long run by preventing need for further treatment later #PHARM4420
Why is the list of services not covered under an MCP card longer than the list of services that are covered? Who decides what services are medically necessary? Why are medications and vaccines first on the list of services not covered by MCP? #PHARM4420

Canada is the only country with “universal healthcare” that does not provide universal coverage for prescription medications. Despite having finite funding, is there a way for Canada to allocate money towards PharmaCare? #PHARM4420
Check out this article on how Nova Scotia has implemented pharmacist-led clinics across their province. NL would benefit greatly from a similar service. How long will it be before NL opens their first pharmacist-led clinic? #PHARM4420

With the overwhelming strains placed on our healthcare system, it is time to be innovative! Pharmacist-led clinics are one of the many ways pharmacists can alleviate some of the pressures placed on our healthcare system. #PHARM4420
@Michael_Lahey10 I agree, to maximize the benefit of pharmacist-led clinics, an expansion in the pharmacists’ scope of practice would be needed. I would love to see pharmacists in NL gain the ability to order and interpret lab tests. This would be another win for pharmacy practice!#PHARM4420
