A federal judge in Montana blocked the state’s first-in-the-nation ban of TikTok Thursday, dealing a blow to critics’ efforts to outlaw the popular video app for public use. https://t.co/Qi64Mt0urn
Why is the @WhiteHouse Executive Order on #AI such a big deal? Because it’s a big EO – over 💯 pages!
EO’s can spin-off a huge amount of guidance for agencies & federal contractors. For example, EO 14028 on #cybersecurity resulted in multiple OMB memos from 3 to 40+ pages long.

Fast forward to 2017 when I’m working in DC as a TechCongress Fellow. It was Seersucker Day on the Hill. The Senator and I exchanged compliments on our matching seersucker suits while passing through the halls of Hart. Kind of silly - but the Senate likes its traditions.
In 2001, I was Coro Fellow in her LA field office. Letters containing anthrax were being sent to Senators shortly after 9/11. She conveyed the importance of gov staying open for business despite risks to staffer opening potentially-deadly letters while wearing a mask and gloves.
Great first episode of the Impossible Tradeoffs podcast. @katieharbath is certainly not afraid of controversy: dipping fries 🍟 into milkshakes 🥤 is right up there with pineapple 🍍 on pizza 🍕 (I'm a yes on both).
My first podcast episode is live! Tune in to hear from @crystalp - a former colleague of mine at Meta - and @RebeccaThein - a former Twitter employee - about how tech is preparing for all the elections next year.
