I don't believe in a life after death, so reminders that they're in Heaven with God and I'll see them again feel like denial. Like "your dog is at a nice farm chasing bunnies". Dead is dead.

@Dr__JE @Tx_Rider1 @ZubyMusic If I were planning a funeral for someone I knew was also an atheist, I would try to gather as many photos of their life as I could. I'd decorate the venue reflective of their tastes and play their fav music. People would discuss their memories and cry, laugh, eat & drink together

@jameelajamil In my world you're at the top no shagging necessary! TGP is my all time fav show & I've used my quarantine time well - I convinced one of my roommates to binge it in a week and we're watching ~3 eps/night with the other. We're 1/2 way through season 3 and he's loving it! As am I!

Even outside of pandemics healthcare workers often end up with PTSD, especially paramedics. This is just exposing a larger number of people to a greater scale of death. Of course that is traumatic!

@JoshuaLowenber1 @jameelajamil Get fucked. Doing frivolous things in the midst of a traumatic experience doesn't negate the trauma. It can be a way to attempt to boost spirits, and sometimes works to a greater or lesser degree, but TikTok or no, PTSD will be the outcome of this for many medical personnel

I don't resist that because I pity the billionaires, but because I don't want to become the person who would inflict more pain than necessary

@adidas no, asking workers to come into work during a pandemic takes greed. Take the $ loss for their sake and pay them! There is no courage here. I work a job where I need good quality shoes and must replace them often. Adidas is no longer on my list of possibilities.

It also includes social commentary, participating in group art projects (bands, choirs, plays, etc), challenging oneself, and searching for connection. Not all art is all of these things, not all of these things are always art. It's nuanced.

From what I've seen, the music in Italy wasn't started with an eye to social connection. Someone was likely bored and lonely so they started making music. Then a neighbour joined in. Then another. No design. Just art.

That is art, pure and simple. It is how they are coping with their isolation and it's amazing.
