To be great, you have to have an ego big enough to believe you are “that guy,” but also small enough to recognize you don’t have it all figured out. You need a winning environment around you (coaches, spouse, family, trainers). People who push you to be better.
Left to my own devices. I would have never turned to Jesus, but He chose me.
That’s the most humbling thing a man can sit with. You didn’t find Him. He found you.
“We love because he first loved us.”
On my own I am broken, incapable, sinful, lost, destructive, hateful, lustful — the list goes on and on.
But because of what Jesus did for me, I am now holy and blameless.
What we think true strength is:
-I can do it
-I am capable
-I’ll figure it out
-I’m in control
What true strength is:
“Apart from Him, I can do nothing.”
John 15:5
True strength is the admission that without Christ, you have none.
