OshiVision Post-Event Thoughts

Hey everybody, Frostybolty here! Thank you all for attending the first OshiVision, whether you joined us in person or online.

The Good

- The event was built on the day in THREE HOURS.
- We got everybody through the door and ready to enjoy the event in around 20 minutes.
- Main stage events ran without too much scuff, with only TEN minutes between activities.
- Over 35 Meet & Greets!
- A cosplay support area with changing rooms and tools to fix cosplay.

Overall, I’d call that a success, and I want to thank all the staff and volunteers who helped make it happen. W volunteers!

The Bad

End-of-event bag searches.

Unfortunately, we had a case of vandalism. The venue toilets were tagged, and the mirrors were scratched with the same tagging. This led to bag searches at the end of the event, and nobody likes being searched. Even most of our staff were searched at the end.

It’s a shame, because events like this are built with community effort and passion in mind. Something like this can sour the experience for everyone involved and leave a bad taste, especially after such a great day. We can’t have nice things if this kind of stuff keeps happening, so if you see anything suspicious at future events, please let us know.

All things considered, we had a great time, and we really hope the bag searches did not affect your experience too much.

What’s next? Big things coming? Dunno, we’ll find out lmao.
