Retired judge Jack Lu weighed in on the cases, telling Fox News Digital that similar defenses could become more prevalent, as the jury considers Clancy's postpartum mental health conditions that have gained national attention amid the trial.

41-year-old Andrea Faust is facing murder and attempted murder charges over the death of her 3-year-old son and the attempted murder of her 2-year-old son.

Faust's lawyer tells Fox News Digital that her client's case is "eerily similar, though not entirely the same" as the Clancy trial.
