On Nov. 14th, we hosted our 2nd session of the UAHS LGBTQ+ Interest Group 2017-2018 Series. We held a screening of โThe Camouflage Closet,โ a documentary about trauma and recovery among nine Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Veterans. Thank you all who were in attendance.
On Nov. 9th, the UAHS V.E.T.S. Center, in collaboration with UAHS-ODI and AZ InMED, hosted a Flag Raising Ceremony in honor of Veteranโs Day. A special thanks to our Veterans from the V.E.T.S. Center and to Bill Ward, for the wonderful flute song. Thank you to all who attended!

On October 17th, 2017, Steve Kilar, MJ, JD (Communications Director, ACLU) provided an overview of recent legal developments that have particular importance to LGBTQ people and addressed the current state of the Affordable Care Actโs gender identity nondiscrimination protections.
On Wednesday, October 11, 2017, the Hispanic Center of Excellence hosted a successful Scholars' Circle with distinguished guests in attendance. Students and faculty received insightful advice and information on becoming better mentors and mentees. Thank you all who attended!
