Happy International Workers Day!
UA Local 170 celebrates our members and all workers across Canada and around the globe. Workers make the world go 'round!
Death on the job should not happen. Every worker deserves to return home safely at the end of the day.
Last year, 138 workers died on the job or from diseases related to work. That is too high and should be zero.
We must all re-commit ourselves to the safest possible worksites.
A big thank you to all UA 170 members who took the time to fight back against Bill M233.
The bill, which was an attack on BC jobs, was defeated last night in the legislature.
Your signatures and your letters to politicians made a difference.
As always, we are stronger together!
UA Local 170 wishes you and your family an excellent Easter Long Weekend!
Please note that our dispatch and office will be closed Good Friday through to Easter Monday and will re-open on Tuesday, April 7th. Dispatch opens at 8 a.m. and the office opens at 8:30 a.m.
UA Local 170 recognizes all of our members and tradespeople across the province for their contributions to B.C.
Thank you for your relentless work and your commitment to excellence. Our B.C. communities would not be what they are today without you.
Everyone goes through tough times. For UA 170 members, it's important to remember that you don't have to go through tough times alone.
