Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems works hard to keep our lights on. I met with @UAMPS_ and St. George officials to talk energy policy, permitting reform, and regional power challenges—issues I’m working to on to make it easier and more affordable to power our communities.
We're proud to share that #UAMPS was the recipient of the #APPA Energy Innovator Award for our collaborative work with members on deploying pole-mounted, self-monitoring devices to enhance grid performance and detect anomalies in real time.

Utah families—and all Americans—deserve abundant, affordable energy. And I’m going to make sure they have it.

As Utah continues to grow, ensuring reliable and affordable energy is a top priority. The Nebo Power Plant in Payson is a great example of the type of reliable energy solutions we need. The plant uses natural gas, which is a dispatchable energy resource. @UAMPS_ is exploring additional resources like geothermal, which Utah has in abundance, and will be critical as we look toward the future. ⚡️ #utpol

As Utah continues to see rapid growth, ensuring reliable power for our municipalities is critical to safeguarding our standard of living. Met with several members of @UAMPS_ for a discussion on policies that would help support Utah’s community-owned power systems.
Let's stick to our New Year's Resolutions together! I resolve to keep our utility local. I’ll support policies that focus decisions about electricity on our community – not on distant shareholders.
