🐘Today we are spotlighting our tutor Isabella Hopkins. Isabella is a Political Science major with minors in English and Business. She’s been at the UA Writing Center since Spring 2021! After graduating, Isabella will be attending law school here at UA!
Congratulations to Iquo Obot, who was presented the Elizabeth Meese Award for Feminist Research for a paper she wrote for a course in the department of Gender and Race Studies. Iquo is a first year MFA student from Nigeria, and a current tutor at the Writing Center!

Meet our 2023 Writing Center Interns! They’ve been enhancing their writing and tutoring skills all semester! Our English 317 Writing Center Practicum is a wonderful opportunity to get exposure to tutoring and working with a diverse array of UA students from all backgrounds!
Save the date! The UA Writing Center will be hosting a Personal Statement Writing Workshop in collaboration with the Office of External Scholarships and Fellowships on April 19th. Registration is required, and the link to register is in the Linktree in our bio!
The UA Writing Center will be closed for Spring Break. We will reopen for online appointments on March 19th and for in-person appointments on March 20th. We hope that everyone has a fun and safe spring break!
Our first Write Night is this Tuesday, February 21st in the Camellia Room at Gorgas Library! Write Night is designed to help graduate students get writing done, whether that be seminar papers, articles, or dissertation/thesis projects. We hope to see you there!
