@AJMooreHealth I was referring to health safety and there are measures people can take to lessen their risk for infection/spread of infection. Sounds like the health risk on public transportation is too high and can understand why you might choose driving over a bus (for example). Be safe!

@Xu_Reno @AJMooreHealth @SaraThomasy @ucdavis @sruuaw The reason for doing away with the monthly pass in 2020 was because the sunk cost of an automated month-long pass stimulated more driving, increasing parking demand each passing year. Introducing daily parking has alleviated that impact...a little too much.

@AJMooreHealth Accessibility and safety are different things. But yes, COVID, etc. has had a HUGE impact on the transportation industry and has forever changed the commuting landscape. Above all, do what you feel is necessary to protect your health and those around you.

@AJMooreHealth Sort of. Transportation Services is a service (auxiliary) for UCD, on the administrative side of the University. The Chancellor's Office is on the academic side of the University.

@Xu_Reno @AJMooreHealth @SaraThomasy @ucdavis @sruuaw Yes...well, there's been years-long thought about purchasing smart EV chargers, but the cost to install is prohibitive, at least at present. To install a single charger, including needed infrastructural upgrades, can easily cost over 100k.

With the exception of guest passes or those purchased from a permit terminal, we don't offer printed parking passes or hangtags. When you pay to park via ParkMobile, your "permit" is your license plate, which we scan.

We installed those devices (called LPRT) right on schedule, though that wasn't the impetus for discounted parking passes (not sure what you mean). We were awarded a grant for new EV charge stations but, true, the cost to actually install far exceeded what we can afford.
