Thursday at UCL Knowledge Lab’s 3pm meeting I will be giving a talk on making talks (and classes) more accessible for people with disabilities. Slides can be found here: https://t.co/6zIGJO91V1 #UCL#IoE#uclknowledgelab
Many Enable members love "the spoon theory" metaphor of stamina issues due to disability. How many spoons do you have left when you get to work? Do you find yourself debating what to do with that last spoon of the day? Dinner? Play with the cat? Tidy? Make lunch for tomorrow?
Only 4% declare of UCL (versus 19% in the working pop) declare disability, impairment, physical/mental health condition and/or are neurodivergent. It is hard to support folks who are not declared. You can declare in MyHR. Even if you don't want to join Enable and talk to us!
Did you know? Only 4% (UK working age pop - 19%) of @UCL employees share they have a disability, impairment, physical/mental health condition or are neurodivergent. This data is used to track #disabilityequality progress - low declarations compromise this #UKDHM@UCLEnable
Did you know? Neurodivergent employees @UCL can have a Workplace Needs Assessment which will determine tailor made workplace adjustments #UKDHM@UCLEnable https://t.co/dTMHT64TJW
While it might be the end of Mental Health Awareness week at UCL, Mental Health continues to be of importance each day of the year. We are excited to hear about UCL's new mental health first aider scheme: https://t.co/c46yLvWyzw
