As we make our way into fall we wanted to highlight how important walking is to the unsheltered population experience. An unhoused individual walks 10 to 15 miles a day. This means that inclement weather like rain and snow can really affect their daily life. (1/2)

Our UCS family mourns the loss of Dave Wilson who was the Men's Shelter Coordinator for 9 years. We thank him for his longtime support and service to our community. We send our sympathies to his friends and family.
Just Because Day is this Sunday! To celebrate, we encourage you to thank people in your life โ just because. We want to say a huge thanks to our hard working staff who works behind the scenes to keep UCS running.
The chairs in our day shelter need replacing! We're wanting to replace them with 30 to 40 stackable Lifetime Chairs. Please consider donating this necessity.
United Caring Services offers emergency night shelters for both men and women.
The men's shelter, located at 324 N.W. 6th Street offers 55 beds including 5 medical respite beds. (1/3)
(2/3) The women's shelter at Ruth's House can be found at 321 E. Walnut Street and can accommodate up to 26 guests including 4 beds for medical respite. The night shelters are safe and secure places for unhoused people where they can stay up to 90 days.
His determination has not slowed and his next goal is to get his LPN certificate and start working in the nursing field. We couldnโt be happier for Raphael and celebrate all he has and will continue to accomplish! (4/4)

Raphael is a veteran who came to UCS in Sept 2022. He has always been a driven and hardworking individual with big dreams! He stayed with us for 2 months and was able to secure employment and housing through coordinated efforts with ECHO Housing and UCS. (1/4)
Raphael often comes back to UCS to visit with guests and share his story.
In 11 months he was able to exit homelessness and earn a certificate all while working full-time. (3/4)
