This week, the Lower School Mathematicians are celebrating Global Connectivity and exploring international mathematical methods! We have heard some brilliant student presentations including multiplication with chopsticks and Australian squaring!
Every Thursday morning this term, aspiring Oxbridge Economists, Computer Scientists, Physicists and Engineers are undergoing Maths interview practice in the AKO Classroom! This week, students were tasked with sketching y=xsin(x) and y=sin(x^2)

Congratulations to Haouxan, Samir, Jake and Yash who won the opening round of the Hans Woyda Mathematics Competition hosted at the City of London School for Girls.
@AQA The advance information for the Level 3 certificate in mathematics (Core maths) states that it is for Paper 1 only. Are we to expect advance information for paper 2+3 at a later point, or to assume that there will be no AI for these papers?
A huge thank you to Dr Hammand, our visiting lecturer from UCL, who delivered hi lecture: 'Navigating Science through Mathematics'. A fascinating insight into some of the practical applicaitons of mathematics.
Enrichment week for Maths has concluded with a team maths challenge for Shell. Competition is fierce as the houses battle it out for podium positions. The results will be announced next week!
We are excited to hear from LSE lecturer Dr Katirzoglou on Thursday, who will deliver her lecture to UCS students: The Riemann Integral and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. All are welcome to attend!
Next week is mathematics and science enrichment week! We are very much looking forward to Associate Fellow of LSE, Dr Katirzoglou deliver her lecture โRiemann Integral and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculusโ on Thursday at 16.30 over Zoom!
What is maths good for? Mr. Armitage provides a fascinating look into the subject, beginning with a tale of some of the earlier discoveries by @OldGowers Sir. Roger Penrose & how maths can be applied to everyday life. More videos like this to follow!
