UCT Vice-Chancellor Professor Mosa Moshabela participated in the U7+ Presidential Summit in Paris on 14-15 April 2026. Hosted in France, which holds the presidency of the G7 in 2026, the summit discussed the role of universities in dealing with the complex challenges the world faces today. It opened with a breakfast meeting between President Emmanuel Macron and a delegation of university presidents at the Elysee Palace on Tuesday, 14 April 2026.

Luyanda Ndhlonzi is among South Africa’s National Senior Certificate (NSC) Class of 2025 top achievers and will be joining the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2026.
Luyanda will be studying a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechatronics) at UCT and aspires to start her own company, specialising in mechatronics systems, mainly supplying the medical field and the automation industry.
