PHONOGRAMS- known as the Green Reading Scheme in the Montessori Language curr. Casa students are introduced to phonograms made up of 2 or more letter sounds. Students work through activities from reading words/matching to objects, to printing in a workbook.
November 8 is National STEM/STEAM Day, and we're excited to celebrate! The day is an opportunity to focus on helping kids advance in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. UMS is proud to provide our students these Learning enriched environments.
Our team meets every Tuesday to prepare for the FIRST LEGO League Challenge, to compete in the Waterloo remote qualifying tournament.
This year the Team has explored Innovation by creating Re-useable shipping packaging and programing to complete Robot Missions.

The Obstacle Course is one of the core activities in our Casa PE classes. They are great at developing a child's gross motor skills and improving their strength and balance. Children love hopping over hurdles, jumping through hexagon speed web & balancing on small domes.
One of favourite activities in Casa gym class is playing with the parachute! It encourages cooperation, is non-competitive, promotes social interaction and communication, and strengthens arm and core muscles.
Today is the day that our wonderful UMS teachers are heading back to school! We are all excited to welcome our students for an educational, safe, and fun returnπ
As the last week of UMS camp finishes, we want to thank all of our educators, counsellors and campers for an amazing summer! This summer, we learned about the world around us, made forever friends, and got ready for the school months ahead.
