As for haki and the six powers being close to the same thing, it's contextual clues. We watch the story from the eyes of Luffy, when he unlocks haki, we also start to see it. Haki is used everywhere before timeskip, but we and Luffy can't see it.

@LibertadSurja the photo has a higher resolution than the screen you are looking at. When you zoom out,the program decides what pixels to show, and if you did everything to the ratio to which X transforms the photo, you are left seeing only the colored pixels. Doesn't work on all screens. 2/2
