Throwback to this interview taken by Switch Creatives during the Kampala Writes Lit Fest this August.
We maintain our goal to support Uganda's digital writers in transforming their storytelling abilities into tangible careers and economic stability. Some of the most talented and dedicated writers out there still haven't figured out how to get paid.
And yes, we're here to change that!

Last Saturday, we had a small intimate monthly meeting at Ishaazi Restaurant. This month’s topic is one nearly all writers have struggled with “How to Keep Momentum: Tackling Writer’s Block and Career Stagnation”.
Our discussion led us to discover that it boils down to your mental and emotional expectations. Often, it’s fear. Fear of not being good enough, the fear of being judged, the fear of not doing the work justice. The inability to keep going usually comes from personally held beliefs.
Do you have any beliefs keeping you back? #UDWAssociation #writersblock #creativewriting
The dreaded blinking cursor. The blank screen. The plain white page. Nearly every writer has been there.
But what is writer’s block exactly? What goes through your mind when you struggle to write? Let us know in the comment section!

Beautiful faces in a beautiful place!
Last Saturday, we held our second monthly physical meeting at Emerald Hotel, Kampala. We were happy to see new and old faces around the table, discussing the intricacies of making it as a digital writer in the high-pressure Ugandan economy.
Thank you to @Mablees, @Mugibson and @CynthiaKinyera for the titillating panel discussion on “Monetising Digital Writing in Uganda”. Our open discussion covered issues like how to monetise a blog, transitioning from writing as a side hustle to writing full-time for a living, and touching on the norms of different industries where writers can thrive.
Would YOU like to join us next month?
