🍎UFT Manhattan PAC |✊🏾Fighting for public education, labor rights, and working families. Organizing educators to build political power across Manhattan.
NYC spends $1.5B paying for private schools for families with special ed students when NYC fails to provide them with support services.
@UFT Para Priscilla Castro says there’s a better way: staffing support services properly.
That’s why we’re fighting for the RESPECT Check 💪

Every generation is shaped by leaders who leave the world fairer than they found it.
Lillian Roberts was one of those leaders.
She gave a voice to working people and strengthened the labor movement that built New York.
My heart is with her family and the entire DC 37 and AFSCME family. May she rest in peace.
Vouchers aren’t free. This federal tax credit voucher scheme could cost taxpayers $50 billion while siphoning support away from public schools.
I had a great conversation with Randi Weingarten about why New York should opt out and keep public dollars where they belong: in public schools. @AFTunion@nysut
To understand where vouchers are taking us, we have to understand where they came from. The roots of school vouchers are intertwined with efforts to evade integration, and we can’t ignore that truth. Thank you, @NEAToday President Becky Pringle for this important conversation.
#Congratulations to @graceleefornyc on winning the Democratic Primary Election in SD-27!
We’re thrilled to continue working together, now in the senate, to fight for public schools, NYC students, and the educators who support them. 🗽 🎉

We greatly appreciate the work and continued partnership of @Wright4Harlem, looking forward to working with you over the next term to assure that we have strong public schools and that working people are always protected 💪🏾✊🏾!
I woke up today feeling such gratitude.
Grateful for an incredible team that ran one of the best campaigns in the country. I'm so excited to see how they change the world in future races.
Grateful for the supporters from all over that joined our cause to ensure it is we the people that control our future. Those who were with us on Day 1 to those who flew in the volunteer on the very last day, you were all a part of something much bigger than me.
Grateful for each and every one of my neighbors that put their trust in me with their vote.
Grateful for my family. For my wife, who knew exactly what to say. And for my son, who greeted me this morning with the same smile he has every morning since he learned to smile (admittedly, not that long ago).
I'm sorry I didn't get it done yesterday.
Thank you for everything.
The work continues.
.@RJackson_NYC is a tried & true ally to public education and the educators who build up NYC communities.
The @UFT is proud to support his reelection to the State Senate (SD-31)!

#BREAKING: NY AG Tish James: “…what we are witnessing here at this moment is a tension. Dr King talked about creative tension being a catalyst for social justice, and clearly [there’s tension between] DSA & Progressive Democrats…that’s what you are witnessing now given the split between a Mayor who I’ve supported, who’s a friend of mine, who I respect, but when it comes to the 7th congressional district, the best candidate, the candidate with a proven record of accomplishment, is Antonio Reynoso. He’s not new to this, he’s true to this, and that’s why I stand with him and support him.” 😳
New York is a union town because generations of workers fought for it to be one.
I'm honored to have earned the support of @UFT, @32BJSEIU, @NYHTC, @nysut, @FollowCSA the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators, AFL-CIO, Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1056, Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local Union Local #1, and the Tile Marble Terrazzo Local #7.
I take that trust seriously. As your Assemblymember, I'll fight for fair wages, strong union protections, safe working conditions, and good union jobs.
Workers have always had New York's back. I'll have theirs in Albany.
