In our western lessons we also practice exercises with trail obstacles, such as this pinwheel exercise, to work on our rhythm/tempo, spatial awareness, and the adjustability of our horses. @UFequestrian @UFRecSports #LiveInMotion

Here is one of our western riders exhibiting parts of the two patterns from the last tweet! Riders may be judged on their position, effectiveness and quietness of cues to the horse, and correctness of the pattern. @UFequestrian @UFRecSports #LiveInMotion

Our western team competes in Horsemanship, Reining, and Ranch Riding. Here are some examples of horsemanship patterns that we may receive on the day of a show! @UFequestrian @UFRecSports #LiveInMotion

Hunt seat over fences practice! We practice different courses of jumps on different horses each week, so that we are better prepared for show day where we won’t know the course or our horse until the day of! @UFequestrian @UFRecSports #LiveInMotion

Many of our teams ride in draw-style competitions. This means that horse assignments are drawn on the morning of a show and you could be on a horse you’ve never ridden before! This is why we lesson on different horses every week! @UFRecSports @UFequestrian #LiveInMotion
