2026 Energy Scholar Abiral Dangol is tackling that challenge by developing a stress-based monitoring system that uses PZT sensors to identify early signs of deterioration in offshore platform foundations.

Graduate students Salvador Gonzalez, Amy Le, Lindsay Underwood, Jennifer Zuspan and Fizza Afreen spent the summer at NASA Johnson Space Center through the IDEAS² Center, contributing to space systems research and gaining hands-on engineering experience.
