Today we celebrate #IndigenousPeoplesDay beside our indigenous students and their peoples. We understand the need to not only acknowledge and honor the history, culture, and achievements of indigenous peoples but to also erase dated traditions that have long harmed them.
Chancellor Michael Amiridis spoke at the recent FirstGen Flames Abroad Scholarship reception, which celebrated the inaugural cohort of recipients for this new study abroad scholarship, and delivered some remarks highlighting the importance of study abroad for UIC students.
Jorge Argüello, Argentine ambassador to the U.S., met with Chancellor Amiridis on Wednesday to explore a future exchange of grad student researchers and to recognize Prof. Dr. Damiano Rondelli for his extraordinary int’l collaborations developing Bone Marrow Transplant clinics.
