We currently have two openings for police officers, but we anticipate additional vacancies throughout 2025. This is likely the only opportunity to get your name on the hiring list this calendar year. The next opportunity will be in 2026.
Throughout the intensive 10-week program, students studied numerous public safety, management and leadership topics, including budgeting and resource allocation, media relations, contemporary policing and more.

Update: Officers located the individual who prompted the 911 call, and it was determined that the suspected weapon was a toy gun from a Halloween costume.
At 4:23 p.m., University of Illinois Police Department officers responded to Snyder Hall for a report of a person with a weapon on their hip. Officers searched the building and reviewed video footage, but no one matching the description was found.
