UIS announced today that Laura Liesman will be its new Director of Athletics. Laura has been the AD at NCAA DII Georgian Court for the last 18 years, and has helped that program become one of the top in the CACC.

#UISedu is saddened to learn of the death of legendary head men’s soccer coach Aydin Gonulsen. He amassed around 400 career victories and took SSU to three national championships in 1986, 88 & 1993.

A record 14 UIS sports programs earned the GLVC Team Academic All-Conference award for the 2020-21 school year. The women's @TennisUIS team collected the highest GPA in the conference with a 3.94 mark.

- Each team had a GPA above 3.30
- 87.8% of the UIS athletes had a 3.00 or better
- Women's @TennisUIS had a 3.965 team GPA
