Happy #meetmemonday! I’m Dickens, the Law Library Director’s dog, and I’ve been associated with libraries all my life. I love sniffing in my new garden and napping on the deck. My favorite snacks are peas or anything on the floor.
This month’s Database of the Month is VitalLaw! VitalLaw has a great collection of resources on Intellectual Property, Labor & Employment, and Tax (among other things). It also has great practical tools, like build-your-own multi-jurisdictional law surveys and guided workflows.
This month’s legal research tip is that if you find yourself bogged down in your research, consider taking a break! Take a walk. Do some stretches. Grab a snack. Rest. Get some distance from the project and come back with a fresh head. Your brain and research will thank you!
Happy #meetmemonday! I’m Jennifer Mart-Rice, Assistant Director for Access & Collections, and I’ve been at the Law Library for a year. I’m a mid-morning person, coffee lover, and avid baker. I like true crime podcasts and live music, especially funk rock with a little jazz.
This month’s Database of the Month is The Making of Modern Law! The MoML databases cover a variety of early legal texts from before the creation of the USA plus foreign and international works of legal theorists from as early as 1600.
This month's Legal Research Tip is to browse the stacks! Look up a relevant book in our online catalog, find it on the shelf, and take a look at the shelves surrounding it - you'll find other books on related topics. The perfect resource could be waiting right under your nose!
Happy #meetmemonday! I'm Erin McCroskey, Serials & Continuations Assistant, and I've worked at the Law Library for 30 years. Black & Gold is a family trait. I quilt, read all types of fiction, and love board games, crossword puzzles, and traveling to National Parks.
This month’s Database of the Month is @HeinOnline's Law Journal Library! Use it to locate full text PDF articles from a huge number of law reviews, journals, and bar magazines. Search by keyword, journal title, article title, or author.
Happy Presidents Day! The Law Library is open, and we are celebrating with a few titles from the Boyd Presidential Collection, which contains over 2,500 volumes about U.S. presidents, first ladies, and presidential candidates.
This month’s Legal Research Tip is to visit @GtownLawLib's Treatise Finder when choosing a treatise. (https://t.co/J9sI3xzZYE). A “gold medal” next to a title indicates it is a preeminent treatise in the area.
Happy #meetmemonday! I'm Olivia Anderson, Preservation Librarian, and I've worked at the Law Library for 4 months. I love to make art, mend clothing, and dance! I'm obsessed with horror, and my favorite podcast is Girls, Guts, and Giallo.
