@MikeWarrington7 Once drilling commences on any of the sites, the market will react. Unfortunately, UJO have to wait for the JV partners to pull their fingers out. It's one of the downsides of operating in the UK. On a plus note, all other UK O&G companies will fall by the way side due to debt.
How can locals and environmentalists oppose drilling activity in an AONB at #Biscathorpe when you have the Belmont TV mast dominating the area. What's more important, TV or energy? #UJO#EDR#EOG
If the government want energy security in the UK, then they must act not solely to fast track offshore, but onshore too. There are many onshore O&G reserves that would be able supply the UK short and medium term. #WestNewton#Biscathorpe @beisgovuk @reesmog
@MikeWarrington7 The difference is Mike is that offshore oil don't need planning permissions to be approved by local councils. You'd think in times of an energy crisis the government would intervene.
@UnionJackOilplc Both Atwick and Aldbrough are owned by SSE who sold their gas producing assets, however, Centrica has recently reopened the Rough gas storage and they do produce gas. They would be the potential major player to buy PEDL183.
@leedbartz@jhwalker6751@Heid_oil It will still go ahead with the outcome 8 weeks later. No doubt the government will be leaning on the inspector to approve it, regardless of the eco-warriors. Then it will be down to #EDR to get the rig in quickly.
@Heid_oil We'll see if the objectors conduct themselves in a proper manner and act like the concerned community or will they behave like football hooligans and told to leave.
@MikeWarrington7 @Heid_oil @UnionJackOilplc Agreed Mike. Centrica (due to nearby infrastructure) will buy the licence on commercial flow and put into production. What it's worth? Who knows.
