Over the next few days, I will be in France and Slovakia to attend various programmes, including bilateral talks, multilateral engagements and interaction with the Indian diaspora. The focus will be on boosting economic as well as cultural linkages.

The visit will begin with programmes in Nice, notably ‘Bharat Innovates’, in which President Macron will be present. As India and France are marking the ‘India-France Year of Innovation’, ‘Bharat Innovates’ will be a vibrant platform that brings together innovators, StartUps and those related to the world of innovation.

In Nice, I will also hold talks with President Macron, where we will review the India-France Special Global Strategic Partnership.

Finally, the film-obsessed Hindus of Tamil Nadu are waking up after the “Sanatan eradication” pledge made in the state assembly. Now they are tearing down the posters and flags of the very party they voted for just a few days ago.

They are realizing that they were misled by their addiction to films and film heroes. Madurai, where Hindus constitute 90% of the population, voted for Mohammed Mustafa, who vowed to eradicate “Sanatan.” Hindus did not expect this.

Good to see that Hindus are waking up and realizing the difference between filmy dialogues and real life.

Bangladesh: Attacks on Mandirs and Hindu houses during Bengali New Year

Earlier this week Bengali New Year (Pohela Boishakh) celebrations in Savar were brutally broken down by targeted violence from Islamist groups. The incident involved an organized mob that attacked local Hindu residents, leading to the vandalism of a Mandir and several nearby houses owned by Hindus.

Local leaders have condemned the lack of immediate police intervention, characterizing the event as part of a broader, systemic pattern of intimidation against religious minorities in the region.

The attack in Savar is part of a documented surge in communal violence across Bangladesh. Reports from early 2026 state over 116 deaths in communal violence over a seven-month period, including cases of mob lynching and land grabbing specifically targeting Hindu farmers and business owners.

It is equally unfortunate that a subject as important as Santal culture is treated so casually by the West Bengal Government.
