🚨 This is how easily politicians can twist data.
📊 A Labour MP just claimed that inflation was higher under the Conservatives last term.
✅ Technically true…
❌ But here’s the catch: that period included a GLOBAL PANDEMIC 🌍🦠 when governments had no choice but to print money to keep people alive.
📉 In fact, the Tories were already bringing inflation down, exactly what a responsible government should do after such a crisis.
⚡ Fast forward to the election: inflation has shot back UP ⬆️🔥.
And this time? No pandemic. No global meltdown. Just… Labour’s incompetence 🤦♂️.
🤔 That’s the trick: politicians cherry-pick data 📈📉 to spin the story their way.
But looking at the chart, it seems clear 👉 Labour comes out looking worse than the Conservatives.
What do you suggest then?
I am personally not extreme enough to suggest we kick all Muslims out just because they are Muslims. Maybe that is your view?
I do think Islam is highly problematic and whilst a lot of Muslims will follow the Quran and Sharia Law above anything else, it still isn't all of them and I cannot just put everyone that belongs to that group in the same box and simply say kick them all out.
It isn't the same though. Most Christians now accept it as Christianity has evolved beyond that. There are always some people that are homophobic and we will condemn them.
Islam on the other hand does not seem to evolve and still follow the Quran and all it's very problematic ideas. I know former Muslims who left Islam and have told me this. A lot of Muslims put Islam before anything else, before the country and the rules of that country.
So what you are saying is we should fight for a religion, that has homophobic views, to be allowed to have those views? What if I started a new religion that wanted to execute the LGBT community? Would you condemn me or would you fight for my right to have these very problematic views? The logic doesn't really make sense does it?
@ukhomeoffice This sounds promising but why use a white boy as the video? Not that I have a problem with other races but lets be honest, most illegal immigrants are not white, that's just a fact.
@nw_nicholas You and other people on the left don't seem to care about the fact that the police took an allegation of racism more seriously than someone being stabbed? How mental are you.
@AyoCaesar I wonder what could have caused their first instinct to patronise and disbelieve? If it isn't DEI training then I'd be open to hearing other suggestions?
There is never an acceptable scenario where words being said should be taken more seriously than a potential stabbing.
Really you're focused on language when there's a bigger issue at play?
Do you not think the police response to take an accusation of racism more seriously than the accusation of someone being stabbed is a problem? I wonder where they got this from? Maybe DEI training?
Piss off and hope you never get near power. Pricks.
@Ab2o25@rogerroger911@ZackPolanski He always says it will remain free at the point of delivery. I've had healthcare in other countries and it pains me to say it but the NHS is badly run. Obviously there are plenty of good parts and good people. But there is no denying it needs reform. Massive reform.
@ZackPolanski But I guess you agree with the banning of many right wing figures that were due to speak at the Unite The Kingdom event?
If we had free speech none of these would have been banned including these on the left.
I am very much right leaning but I think trains should be nationalised. Capitalism is great as long as there is fair competition. Due to the nature of trains and the fact they need to share a track I don't see how that environment can create fair competition. We have seen our prices through the roof. It's cheaper to go abroad.
I have spent time in Asia where they have a capitalist economy but the trains are public owned, and they are so affordable anyone can use them. They are well maintained and frequent so why can't we do the same?
Of course we shouldn't blame the whole group. But if, percentage wise, a particular group is committing a lot more crime than another group then it is worth investigating the cause and if there is something within that culture that makes that particular group more likely to commit a particular offence.
It isn't incorrect of course to make the point that more people will result in more traffic. But that doesn't mean immigration is bad. Immigrants do jobs including building more roads which would do the opposite in reducing the traffic. But there is a balance to be struck.
So yes controlled immigration is beneficial and what she's saying here is way too simplistic and doesn't exactly make her sound intelligent.
@wesstreeting Capital gains is the result of taking a risk. If you want to be fair will people get money back if they lose money from their investment?
