Love using tech in schools where appropriate! Group of teachers, TAs, SLT and office staff. Sarah, Helen & Max in charge of Twitter! Do events and website too!
Our schools are split evenly between what's the best way to get messages to parents - email, SMS and a school App. Email stays constant but not always checked, SMS is checked but numbers change often, and Apps take the onus away from schools (which is good and bad!) - What to do?
’Best NOT at BETT' newsletter sent out today! Always popular and amazing to see how much great EdTech is out there not getting the spotlight deserved. #bett2019#edtech#edtechchat#SLTchat
After 2 weeks of comparing notes and discussing, we've nearly completed our 'Best at BETT' newsletter for members, and our hugely demanded 'Best NOT at BETT' allowing those companies without huge marketing budgets, but with great products, to be shown fairly #bett2019#edtech
Daniel, our resident #SEN specialist, has written a blog about how Assessing Without Levels can be used to meet the needs of #SEMH students more /effectively. Read it here: https://t.co/cMILq0arvj
We're getting more and more questions about MIS systems lately. Schools telling us they think they're spending too much for things they're not really using. There seem to be a lot of good options aside from 'the big one'. Will be exploring in detail in Jan and at #BETT
Really pleased to help so many schools in North Yorkshire last week with EdTech decisions. Tried and tested knowledge and experience speaks so much louder than the marketing noise!
Looking for Coding options? @Hopscotch is really good fun! Kids making games to play, how much more engaged can they get!? We've had a lot of fun with this (the kids enjoyed it a bit too!).
In the first half term of this school year we were in 2 school staff meetings a week! While incredibly useful for us to learn about what's working well, and share practice learned elsewhere, we'll be focusing on online content from here on in to better share what we've learned.
Really pleased with the responses to our in-school poll on effective software. We've received some really useful feedback on which EdTech works well in schools and which can take a lot of time. Looking forward to sharing the results!
Preparation is everything! We start our @Bett_show prep now, excited to see everyone and everything there to report back on what really works well in schools! #BETT2019 - Sarah
