Grey Squirrel Protection UK is a grey squirrel non-profit organisation. We campaign for changes in the law. We are against the persecution of grey squirrels.

It’s hard to believe this is the same squirrel. Spud was found as a tiny baby after losing his mum. Cold, soaking wet and injured, he had almost everything stacked against him 🥺

But he never gave up. Somehow, he pulled through ❤️

@AndyBurnhamGM Congratulations on the result. We’d love to see greater recognition of the welfare of all wildlife, including grey squirrels. Too often animals are viewed as populations to be controlled rather than as sentient individuals. We hope to see more compassion and humane treatment 🐿️

Bam Bam has just woken up after another deep sleep 💤

This time he was lying flat on his back with his hind legs in the air, looking completely comfortable! 🐾

Some squirrels curl up neatly to sleep. Bam Bam prefers to make himself at home ☺️❤️

Bam Bam gets so excited at mealtimes that he starts clapping before the food arrives! 👏🐾

Today he spotted a rare pecan treat, snatched it and immediately started devouring it 😋❤️

Luna, Betty and Bella all came to us as babies. None of us knew then just how much joy, mischief and love they would bring into our lives 🐿️🥰✨

Bella came to us as a tiny baby after falling from a tree ❤️‍🩹

Now she’s safe, loved, and dreaming peacefully. Just look at those little whiskers twitching and that tiny nose sniffing away. We can only wonder what adventures she’s having in her dreams. 🐾💤❤️

Spud had another dental burr today 🐿️🦷

His teeth need regular treatment to stay comfortable and be able to eat.

Today’s procedure cost £189.14. Any support towards his ongoing care means the world ❤️

As soon as his food arrives, Bam Bam starts clapping his little paws with excitement. The applause can continue for several minutes before he finally dives in 😋❤️

Kew Gardens has confirmed it is trapping and killing grey squirrels.

Among those killed will inevitably be mothers with dependent young. For many people, killing healthy wild animals is not an acceptable solution and greater effort should be made to find non-lethal alternatives
